4,000 Weeks

Hello you lovely folk,

Hope the return to school has gone as well as can be for those with school age kids...

I got a new planner! I love a good planner and am relishing getting out the coloured pens... What's your favourite geeky pastime?

The average human lifespan is absurdly, insultingly brief...but that’s no reason for despair.

How long do any of us have?

How long do you have to live?

How long do any of us have?

I have been reading '4,000 weeks - Time Management for Mortals' by Oliver Burkeman- which answers just this question.

Yup, if you live to be 80, you'll have had about 4,000 weeks.

How does that feel?

Sobering, huh?

But then, on deeper reflection it's also...liberating.

Our time is limited; by definition we can't do everything.

We have to let some stuff go.

What, then, shall we do with the time we have been given?

What really matters to you?

For many of us the answer boils down to a simple list; people we love, adding meaning, being productive - and maybe (god forbid!) some fun?

What you are prepared to do less of, or allow yourself to do later/not at all...?

You are super capable, so you can do anything you put your mind to, just not everything. None of us can.

So... given that...

...What will you choose to do today?
