One Stitch at a time…
Mia & I chatting all things knitting…
Well hello there,
I had a lovely time chatting to Dr Mia Hobbs on the Why I Knit podcast this week - and have been diving into knitting even more..(If you can dive into knitting??)

How do you motivate yourself?
It can be tough when things feel too overwhelming to even get started.
The mountain can just feel too high and the going too hard.
I often run workshops exploring this with high stress professionals navigating career change.
Or those skirting Burnout who want to sustain themselves and find a new way to love their work.
One really helpful approach is to break the task down into small steps.
Really small.
And just take one step.
Then another.
Keep going.
You will make steady progress.
We discussed this idea of tiny steps adding up to visible, tangible progress on the podcast.
For some tasks you need to write a list or use a habit tracker and then tick off the completed items to measure progress.
Knitting does this for you - the item literally grows in your hands as you make each stitch.
Even if you are not a knitter, this concept of just taking one step at a time can be helpful.
The key is to make each step so small it is doable.
Because the only effective action is the one you actually take!
(There are tons of reasons I love knitting - this is just one! Watch this space for more and listen out on July 31st when the episode goes live.)
Are you a knitter? Or are you creative in other ways? How do you like to measure progress?
